Just completed day 4.
Exercise:
Really starting to feel my muscles tightening up/getting firm. Don't quite feel like an athlete, but starting to feel like I am getting in better shape. It is definitely easier to bend down, pick things up, get out of the car, etc. I had no idea that it was hard for me to do certain things now that I see it is really easier, like crouching down to get something in the bottom shelf of the fridge or carry the laundry. These are tasks that I would have to do anyway, so why not be able to do it easier! I also noticed that I am less out of breath going up the stairs! And I am not even done with week two! I look forward to more fat loss and more muscle tone. I really like plyometrics and how much fun it can be. I really enjoy feeling my muscles work doing arms, back, legs, abs. The variety in the workouts make it fun too.
Diet:
I am getting used to the food. Starting to get into a groove with preping meals the night before. It was so nice yesterday and today to have sauces and drrssings and soups done and meals ready to go. I have been giving myself more room to substitute and even experiment with playing with the recipes a little. I actually look forward to veggies with dinner. Breakfast is always exciting, but part of that is that is my favorite meal of the day; it's just now breakfast is more exciting to make.
Thank you P90X for the guidance, structure, and plan that I needed to make these changes in my life. And I thank myself for a willingness to learn and patience (not always, hee hee) to get through the growing pains and make new healthy habits for myself. Gotta keep going...

P90X Week 2 Day 2
I want a cookie right now! I don't have a big sweet tooth, but dang it, I want a cookie!
Yesterday, I was so good to pack my salad cause I was taking a houseload of clothes to the laundramat. This way I would not miss a meal. And my frigging salad falls out of the car, the lid pops off the Ziploc, and my lunch is on the parking lot floor! Oh my god, I lost my damn mind!! I have been very edgy about making sure I get my exact meals without straying so I can get maximum results. So I talked to my friend who has done P90X before and talked about how he did it. He actually, much to my surprise, generally stuck to diet and made sure he didn't miss one workout as he pretty much already ate that way. He just noted the increase in protein and decrease in carbs and worked out hard. X style. Then he asked me, Is the way you're eating now different then before? Wow, YES! Waaaaaaay different. It is a huge change for me. This carb whore is actually getting vegetables and water in? And protein for this vegetarian to boot?? WHAT?!?!? Growing pains he said. Growing pains my partner said. Okay I'm breathing...
What was I thinking? Life is gonna happen. Jeez Courtney! Doink! Of course, I am not going to be able to make every recipe perfect every timr. Of course some are going to get interuppted by something, like the concrete. Stuff happens. Other things have to exist to balance with P90X. I have been living where diet and exercise took the back burner and yes it takes the front, but it is not gonna cook any faster if I just stare at it.
Who knew that I would be learning so much other than just getting in shape?
